Full review: https://fandomwire.com/the-super-mario-galaxy-movie-review/ Rating: B+ "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is a sequel that, while losing some of the narrative cohesion of its predecessor, gains massively in spectacle, ambition, and heart. Through animation that redefines the studio's standards and a Brian Tyler score that masterfully honors Nintendo's legacy, the film offers a memorable experience anchored by inspired vocal performances. For those who grew up with these characters, it's impossible to remain indifferent to the magic emanating from every animated frame or the way this space odyssey manages to transform nostalgia into something vibrant and new. It's a visually emotional feast that reaffirms the power of pure entertainment as a tool capable of transporting us back to the happiest moments of our personal history, proving that cinema is still the place where we can all become children again."

**A film that could have had great potential** As a huge Nintendo fan, I have to say that I found this film strange and hollow, with a lot of wasted potential. It isn't like the first one, which at least had a basic structure to the main plot and some character development (I ended up liking the film). But this one doesn't even have a solid plot or character development. I have felt like I was watching fragmented scenes, which had disappointed me a lot; it could have a great story and be more enjoyable I hope the next film will be better than this one, as one of my biggest fears is watching adaptations made solely to exploit our nostalgia.

This movie is stupid trash. You should know that before going in. You should know that without me telling you. There are rules for stupid trash: 1. Keep it short. 2. Have some cool shit in there. This stupid trash is both short AND has cool shit. Rosalina is so hot. I want to be a star baby sucking on her teat. Fox McCloud?!!! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! HOLY SHIIIIIIIT!! I watched this in Spanish because I wanted to see what 3D tech was like these days. It's good. They use it well and it makes watching this trash more fun. I love how stupidly they treat the plot. None of it matters. Don't worry about it. Enjoy the colours. The smoke. The wind. The references. It's fine. Relax. FOX MCCLOUD!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU KNOW WHAT? This movie is good because I watched it before and I liked gaming A LOT. So, I rate it ⅚. Please make me more excited if you agree. I rate it A tier. Always a good movie, and fun. Please make me more excited if you rate it a ⅚ or higher. Good animation but a little bit off. :) THANKS FOR READING.

It was engaging from start to finish. My minor gripe is that they introduced a scene that was deemed controversial by fans and removed it from the games yet they decided to add it to the movie, ok lol. Other than that, every scene had the right amount of comedy, action, suspense, and dramatic shot transitioned perfectly. The characters seemed much more themselves here than in the previous installment

Now I know that I'm not really the demographic for this, but I didn't mind the last one from 2023 so had an open mind as it started. Princess 'Peach' is kidnapped by the menacing baby 'Bowser' who is none too pleased that his dad has been locked up. He is determined to use her as leverage to free him, but that is exactly what intrepid and ingenious 'Mario' and 'Luigi' intend to thwart. What now ensues is the thinnest of stories stretched across a messy collection of interstellar scenarios as they bounce from world to world trying to rescue the royal damsel in distress. I always reckoned that the amiable mushroom people belonged more in an Arabian Nights tale than a sci-fi cartoon, but even their innocent cheeriness can't really enliven this rapidly and colourfully edited together sequence of pinball-machine style scenes. There is surprisingly little effort made to characterise either the goodies or the baddies and the frenetic nature of the animation barely leaves us time to draw breath before we ascend to another level and pretty much repeat as before - only with slightly different props and goals. It's not so much that this lacks a beginning, middle and end - it is more that it just comes across as contant sequence of scenes that could all see the film conclude as predictably as the sun coming up. Perhaps very young children might enjoy the sheer buzz of this, but there really isn't anything visually or from the script to entertain the grown ups. I bet the merch merchants are happy, though.

Enjoyable! Not much nostalgia for me because I barely played Super Mario Galaxy but I like the lore I didn't know before. I can't wait for the sequel! Thank you BlastTV Philippines!

You know how, sometimes, you get a burger that's so thin, overcooked, and leathery that it stops being a "burger" and starts being "a vehicle for condiments"? That, to me, is Super Mario Galaxy: The story/writing is simply there to deliver Nintendo-brand nostalgia. As someone with deep love and fond memories of Nintendo, I'm okay with this---but I'm not going to pretend that the story is the narrative equivalent of Wagyu beef. Contrary to what some of the less charitable critics say, the movie does have a cogent story: Bowser Jr. aims to rescue his father from his imprisonment and bring the dreams they shared when Jr. was young to fruition. To do that, he kidnaps Princess Rosalina, the mother of the stars, to siphon her magic. The gang sets off to rescue the Princess. A simple enough premise; certainly serviceable. It isn't winning any awards for novelty but not everything needs to be "high art" to be enjoyable. But it fails on even this modest ambition. The execution is riddled with enough _deus ex_ to fill a Greek pantheon. Character motivations are inconsistent without real evolution. There are so many zany little subplots that it's like they worried that the audience's attention span would run out---yet they still made the thing run for over 2 hours. Fortunately, the metaphorical "condiment" was delicious---like biting into that burger expecting Hunt's ketchup but getting homemade garlic aoli mayo. The quality of the animation made the film's many callbacks enjoyable. I found myself smiling a lot and actually thinking "dang, I really _should_ get around to playing [redacted Mario game(s)]". Which, I'm certain is all Nintendo really hoped for rather than making a genuinely excellent stand-alone cinematic experience. In sum, it's not something I regret seeing---especially with my family. Though it is something I wish I had saved the video game's worth of money waiting for it to come out on streaming rather than seeing it in theaters.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is an amazing movie with great voice acting and nostalgia from other Mario games. I personally think nothing is wrong with this movie, unless you are someone who's only played the games on the NES or the new games. If you are, you may not get some of the references like(spoiler alert) Star Fox, Ukiki, Rosalina, Luma's, and some other stuff. I would recomend watching if you've seen the first and if you've played Mario Galaxy.
